Systematic scientific studies on Out-of-Body Experiences (OBEs), Near-Death Experiences (NDEs), and Past Life Memories (PLMs), over the past few decades, have demonstrated that consciousness is not always localized to individual biological systems. This workshop will summarize the current state of OBE, NDE and PLM research, at the intersections of neuroscience, biology, psychology, cognitive science, physics and metaphysics. It will also discuss the implications for theories of consciousness. Finally, the workshop will introduce the world's largest science museum dedicated to consciousness, integrating insights from contemporary research and the Eastern Knowledge Systems.
