Photobiomodulation (PBM)-Induced Deep Meditation “Jhana” States with Vielight Neuro Pro 2 (Audience participation)
2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Catalina Ballroom JK
Speakers: Lew Lim, Sanjay Manchandran, Reza Zomorrodi, Vielight staff
An experiential exploration of photobodulation (PBM) as a non-invasive tool to elevate consciousness.
Workshop Objectives:
- Provide hands-on evidence that PBM can induce “instant” deep meditation / jhana-like states, democratizing access to elevated consciousness.
- Demonstrate BiCE as a real-time EEG metric for quantifying these shifts.
- Explore BiCE’s potential to empirically test Orch OR and other quantum theories of consciousness.
- Introduction and Science Overview (45 minutes): Lew Lim present the biophysical foundations of PBM (Near-infrared photons activating cytochrome c oxidase, potential molecular resonances and stabilizing microtubules) and BiCE (bidirectional control energy from Network Control Theory, quantifying cortical-subcortical efficiency). We’ll tie this to Orch OR: high-frequency pulsing may harmonically couple tubulin resonances with gamma networks, amplifying quantum computations.
- Controlled Experiential Session: PBM-Induced Jhana (2 hours): Sanjay Manchanda and Reza Zomorrodi co-lead the use of Vielight’s Neuro Pro 2 (programmable transcranial-intranasal device), participants to observe volunteers’ experience of a frequency-sweep protocol (4–4000 Hz). Sessions are controlled: pre/post EEG, phenomenological checklists (e.g., deep meditative state timed reports, Mystical Experience Questionnaire), and safety screening. 6–8 devices enable parallel 20-minute trials, ensuring all participants engage. Data collection (anonymized, consented) for potential publication.
- BiCE Demonstration and Analysis (45 minutes): Reza Zomorrodi leads a live EEG demo, computing BiCE in real-time to show Kc/Ks minima correlating with deep meditative state entry (e.g., AUC 0.70–0.71 for PBM vs. sham). Attendees see how BiCE discriminates frequency effects (e.g., 120 Hz global thalamo-hippocampal recruitment).
- Discussion: BiCE for Orch OR Research (30 minutes): Moderated panel (Lim, Zomorrodi, Manchanda, with Hameroff invited) explores BiCE as a tool for probing quantum mechanisms—e.g., testing decoherence countermeasures via PBM. Q&A on applications for Alzheimer’s and AI-optimized protocols.
Documentation and Impact:
The workshop will be fully consented and controlled for ethical, publication-quality data (e.g., EEG/BiCE outputs, questionnaires). A professional video team will document for an open-access documentary, capturing TSC moments and promoting quantum consciousness globally. This could yield a peer-reviewed paper on PBM-BiCE-Orch OR links, advancing TSC’s legacy of experiential science.
Logistics and Safety: Vielight provides devices, EEG equipment, and staff support. All protocols ethically cleared/low-risk; contraindications screened. No commercial focus—purely scientific
