Congratulations to the 2020 Nobel Prize winners. Our heartfelt wishes to Roger Penrose on this recognition.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2020 was divided, one half awarded to Roger Penrose
"for the discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity",
the other half jointly to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez "for the discovery of a supermassive compact object
at the centre of our galaxy."

We are proud of our affiliation with Sir Roger Penrose who has addressed our conferences over the past decades and who has collaborated with CCS Director Stuart Hameroff on the Orch OR Theory.
Dr. Hameroff teamed up with the eminent British physicist Sir Roger Penrose in the early 90's and is co-developer with Penrose of the highly controversial theory of consciousness called ‘orchestrated objective reduction’ (Orch OR), based on quantum computations in microtubules.
Here is a selection of articles,  videos and interviews from our archives on Orchestrated Objective Reduction Theory (Orch OR) and presentations from various presentations.

Abstract: Orch-OR: New results on the physics of OR  Roger Penrose (Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, Oxford, London United Kingdom) PL11
According to the Hameroff-Penrose Orch-OR proposal, the phenomenon of consciousness depends not only upon large-scale quantum coherence taking place in the brain, but also upon the phenomenon of the collapse of the wave-function being an objective physical phenomenon (OR: the Objective Reduction of the quantum state). There is as yet no accepted theory of OR, but some leading candidates propose that the gravitational field is responsible. Although a recent experiment appears to have eliminated a prominent version of this proposal, the experimental results are in accordance with the OR scheme adopted in Orch-OR. In this scheme there are curious temporal effects that could well clarify some early experimental results due to Libet.
