Thomas G. Bever is Regents’ Professor at the University of Arizona with appointments in Linguistics, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, L2 Learning and BIO5.  He has had prior senior appointments at the Rockefeller University, Columbia University, the University of Rochester.  He is the founder of several programs and centers in the language sciences, and the co founder and long-term editor of the journal Cognition.  His awards include Harvard Junior Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship and the Humboldt Senior Research Prize.  He has more than 175 articles and several books in areas of cognitive science both experimental and theoretical including; linguistic theory, cognitive development, language processing, cerebral asymmetries, animal cognition, aesthetics, genetics of cognition and language, reading.
